Our Origami Paper Craft Designs Are Now In Stores!
Showa Grimm Inc., one of Japan's
premiere origami manufacturers, has licensed our
Japanese
Bullet Train,
Fire Truck,
and Ambulance models for sale in Japan. The pack comes
in sets of 16 sheets, each with a landscape
background for display purposes. The cost is 200-yen or about $2.
We hope to make them available on-line soon. |

In the Pipeline
At Taro's Origami Studio, we are constantly thinking of new and
exciting ways to recreate the world in paper! Currently we have a fire
house, and several new cars in the pipeline. We can't wait to introduce
them to you on this Web site. |
ORIGAMI IS WORLD ART
The word 'origami' is Japanese
that literally means to fold ('ori') and paper
('gami'). But did you know that Europe has its own paper folding
tradition that developed separately from Japan? The earliest known European 'origami' is
probably a 16th century Spanish baptismal certificate made into the shape of a
little bird called 'pajarita'. |

| This is our easiest model and a good one
to start with. It should
take about 5 minutes to make. When you fill out the information below,
we will email you the password to download an origami file,
which you can then print using any printer. The steps are
numbered and printed on the sheet. Just fold as you go. Each
numbered step is accompanied by a symbol (V, M, MC, or VC)
representing one of the following basic folds: Ｖ・・・---valley fold
Ｍ・・・---mountain fold
ＭＣ・・・-mountain crease (mountain fold and unfold)
ＶＣ・・・ valley crease (valley fold and unfold)

If you want to print out a sample, use browser's printing function. Select
"Landscape" as the printing orientation.
Preferred paper is 20 lbs letter size paper (normal printer
paper). Ink-jet color printer is best.
Find our origami pattern on page 5 of the
card kit. Cut out the
sheet and fold the origami according to the instructions on page 7.
You can change
the text on the front page and
the message in the inside pages of the sample card. Save the changes
for when you decide to order your cards.
